Vance grew up in a farming and ranching community in the Sandhills of north central Nebraska and was very involved in the family cow/calf operation. Throughout high school he drove eighteen miles each way to town where he attended and graduated high school while being involved in many activities including sports and FFA. After high school graduation, he went on to attain his bachelor’s degree in business management from Pensacola Christian College. It was during this time that Vance became very interested in financial planning and investing. The ability to combine these interests with the desire to help people achieve their goals led to his career as a Financial Advisor.
Vance has been a Financial Advisor since 2005. Vance and the team formed Prill I Garwood Financial Advisors in 2025. This move provided him with the resources to offer his clients a full range of financial services. He and the team work with clients on an individual basis to create truly personalized, comprehensive wealth strategies that run the gamut from basic needs to complex goals.
Vance considers it his responsibility as a financial advisor to always serve his clients with honesty and integrity. In doing so, all recommendations and decisions on behalf of his clients will be solely in their best interest. Considering financial planning crucial, Vance obtained the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification from the Certified Financial Board of Standards, Inc. Vance is a past President of the Financial Planning Association of Kansas.
Vance enjoys spending time with his wife, Ellie, and their three girls, Stella, Hazel, and Georgia. In his leisure time, Vance can often be found on the tractor fostering his enjoyment of the outdoors instilled at a young age on the family ranch by maintaining and improving their acreage north of Andover. Vance and his family attend Central Christian Church in Wichita. Vance is very involved in the Wichita community. He is a Past President of the Wichita Downtown Lions Club, a board member of the Union Rescue Mission in Wichita, and serves in other organizations as well.
Vance was first introduced to Dave Ramsey through Financial Peace University over 15 years ago. Immediately, he recognized the common-sense principles Dave teaches paralleled those of his own. Since then, Vance has led multiple Financial Peace University classes and has observed first-hand how lives can be changed by following Dave’s principles. Considering Vance believes in Dave’s principles, it was a natural fit for Vance to become part of a Dave Ramsey SmartVestor PRO™ where he has helped countless families put together a plan to save and invest for the future.
